Opportunities

Project Engineer (5-10 years) - Stormwater, Drainage, Floodplain Management

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience working in watersheds along the Front Range of Colorado and the ability to work independently on a variety of projects.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Developing innovative designs for stream stabilization & stormwater management facilities.
  • Calculate unique water quality treatment systems and analyze flood control infrastructure.
  • Study watersheds, analyze basin characteristics, precipitation, and runoff volumes.
  • Designing storm sewers, detention/water quality ponds, channels, and natural drainage systems.
  • Floodplain studies and related FEMA flood mapping products.
  • Stormwater Management, Erosion and Sediment Control, and Master Planning studies.
  • Permitting: stormwater, floodplain development, and wetland permit applications.
  • Development and site plan review and municipal engineering tasks.
  • Construction plan and specification development, construction management.
  • Prepare outreach materials, attend meetings, and present technical information to clients
Education / Experience
  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 6 years of work experience.
  • Professional Engineering license
  • Ability to use CAD, GIS, HEC-RAS, CUHP, SWMM, and other related software tools to plan and design civil projects.
  • Experience in civil infrastructure projects, specifically stormwater, or water resource engineering.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, flexible, small team environment.
  • Established experience and relationships with Counties, Cities, and Districts.

Depending on experience and qualifications, this position is open to candidates outside the Metro Area with interest in remote office arrangements.

Project Engineer (5-10 years) - Roadways, Pedestrian Improvements, Drainage

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience designing intersection improvements and roadway widenings, sidewalks and stormwater drainage, parking lots and pedestrian/bike trails, meeting local agency and CDOT requirements, and the ability to work independently on a variety of projects.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Manage civil engineering projects including roadways and other infrastructure projects for public agencies.
  • Lead, self-perform, and/or oversee engineering design in the preparation of construction plans and specifications, technical design reports, project schedules, cost estimates, and other associated project/contract deliverables.
  • Coordinate workload and resource allocation on a weekly basis with other project managers.
  • Responsible and accountable for meeting client expectations and maintaining positive connections with our clients.
  • Prepare and carry-out project management and quality control plans to meet project goals, budgets, and schedules.
  • Prepare invoicing and follow-up to collect AR in a timely manner.
  • Support the construction process by reviewing submittals, answering questions, and conducting field visits.
  • Assist in business development activities and prepare proposals for competitive pursuits
Education / Experience
  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering and Professional Engineering license.
  • 5 or more years of total working experience and at least 2 years in managing civil infrastructure projects
  • Advanced understanding of Civil 3D and other applicable design software, including Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, etc.

Design Engineer (0-4 years) - Roadways, Pedestrian Improvements, Drainage

We are seeking a civil engineer to join our engineering firm’s Civil Infrastructure Design Team. Our civil design projects are often multi- disciplinary, and exemplify all aspects of roadway, utility, stormwater, and infrastructure design. Projects cover a range of needs from small intersection or drainage improvements to multi-million dollar upgrades to local, collector, and arterial roadway networks. Much of this project work focuses on CDOT local agency projects, multi-use trail systems, stormwater design, as well as municipal capital improvement projects across the Colorado Front Range. The person who fills this position will assist over the life cycle of these projects, from assessment, design, permitting, and implementation through construction. The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning, developing as an engineer, and participating in capital improvement design projects.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning, design, and production of engineering documents for a variety of projects to include roadway work, pedestrian underpasses, sidewalks, stormwater management and drainage infrastructure, parking lots, and parks/trail design.
  • Contribute to studies, master plans, design reports, cost estimates, permitting, and computer modeling.
  • Prepare engineering drawings and specifications to clearly convey construction requirements.
  • Perform engineering calculations, data analysis, and field observations.
  • Develop an understanding of construction methods to translate engineering plans and specs to final construction of a project.
  • Be actively involved in client meetings with fellow engineers.
  • Work toward your PE license with peer support and guidance from a senior engineer.
Education / Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • EI designation or the ability to obtain within 6-months of hire date.
  • 0-4 years of full-time experience in civil engineering.
  • Basic understanding and willingness to learn CAD, GIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM and other related software tools
  • Experience working in a team environment. Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to ask questions, seek instruction, and problem solve.
